The City of Somerset hosted an open house at the newly expanded Somerset Water Treatment Plant on October 21st in celebration of its completion. The plant utilizes state-of-the-art membrane treatment technology to continue providing the 110,000 citizens of Pulaski and surrounding counties with a high quality and reliable water supply. The $25 million project was the largest American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA) funded water project in the United States.
The event was attended by local and state dignitaries, members of the city and utility as well as other community representatives. After a ceremony and lunch, a tour was conducted to highlight the new facility improvements.
