Owingsville/CTI Foods Expansion Project

September 9, 2014

CTI Foods is investing more than $42 million in an initial expansion to its operations center in Owingsville, Kentucky, as part of a $58 million total expansion which will add nearly 200 full-time jobs at the facility. The expansion will affect the facility’s product line and requires the construction of a new equalization basin and pretreatment facility at the Bath County Industrial Park wastewater treatment facility located adjacent to the operations center.

The City of Owingsville, in partnership with CTI Foods, held a check presentation ceremony June 9, 2014, to accept a check from the US Economic Development Agency (EDA) in the amount of $1,250,000. Also included in the funding package is a $1,000,000 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) and $650,000 from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC).

Dignitaries in attendance at the event included Tony Wilder, Department for Local Government Commissioner; Phil Paradise, US EDA Regional Director; Pam Farmer, US EDA Representative; Andy Barr, Congressman; Mayor Gary Hunt, City of Owingsville; Tony Walker, CTI Plant Manager; Gail Wright, Gateway ADD Executive Director; Jocelyn Gross, Gateway ADD Project Administrator; Steve Faudere, Water and Sewer Superintendent; Mellisa Hodge, Water and Sewer Secretary; Kathy Conway, Owingsville City Clerk; Doug Copher, Bath County Fiscal Court Treasurer as well as representatives from the Bath County Industrial Board and other community members.
