Goggins Lane Regional Sports Complex
As part of a comprehensive review of 4 existing parks for the City of Richmond, our team completed a Site Evaluation and prepared Programming, Conceptual Designs, and Cost Evaluations for each of the existing parks. The work also included Site Evaluation for a future Regional Youth Sports Venue meant to become an economic driver for Madison County and to serve as a Regional Recreation Park for Richmond and surrounding Communities. The process involved establishing a refined program based on a County Needs Assessment and evaluation of Land Acquisition and Development Costs.
The Goggins Lane Sports Park will include Tournament Level Soccer Venues, Youth Football, Tennis, Pickleball, Basketball, Volleyball, a Regional Themed Nature Playground, Dog Park, Walking Trails, Accessible Wetland Interpretive Center and Accessible Meadow Trail, Mountain Bike Trail, Disc Golf Course and a Memorial Park Area for the birthplace of Kit Carson.
The playground includes a Silver Creek water play area, a Clays Ferry pedestrian bridge, a Palisades rock outcrop, and The Knobs adventure area. Hillside stone and rope climbers are intertwined throughout and several shade areas are incorporated. The project is currently in Construction Design with Phase One of the Construction scheduled to begin in 2023.
